IFO Children and Youth is expanding and developing in preparation for the new Social Services Act!

Across the Social Services in Degerfors, an exciting transformation is underway to meet the need for a more preventive, accessible, and knowledge-based social service when the new Social Services Act comes into force on July 1, 2025. Within IFO Children and Youth, this work has progressed significantly in collaboration with our partners, such as all staff in preschools, schools, the police, health care, and civil society, where we are all now being trained in the collaborative model Backa barnet. Backa barnet is a joint model to ensure children's rights, to early identify children's needs, and to provide coordinated support. Ensuring every child's right to the best possible start in life is our most important task. We are currently recruiting 4 new employees. IFO Children and Family is divided into Reception, Investigation, Child Handlers, and Family Home Units as well as Open Care. IFO also includes financial assistance, support, and adult handlers (domestic violence and substance abuse). It is a fun and engaged group, and various collaborative projects are ongoing.

As a social worker in the Reception Unit, you will receive reports and applications, assess cases, conduct safety assessments, and communicate with children, youth, and guardians. Close collaboration with our Open Care and our partners is central. If needed, investigations are initiated, and cases are handed over to our investigators. Case management and documentation are done according to BBIC, and you will work based on both SoL and LVU legislation. You will receive training as well as regular methodological supervision and case reviews in close cooperation with colleagues and management.

An important task for the Reception Unit is to participate in various types of networks and with other professional organizations, such as collaboration with family centers, schools, preschools, healthcare, and police based on the collaborative model Backa barnet. Here, employees from especially the Reception Unit and Open Care will be essential going forward.

QUALIFICATIONS

A degree in social work, preferably with experience in social services or other equivalent experience. Children and Family, a wonderful team at IFO in Degerfors, is looking for a new employee in the Reception Unit. We are looking for someone who has the ability to motivate, create engagement, and participation. You have good communication and collaboration skills and can maintain good relationships with both the population, colleagues, and external and internal partners.

You have a strong interest in quality, development, and improvement issues. You feel confident working independently but also as part of a team. You can document and understand the laws that govern our field of work. A B driver's license is required. In the selection process, we will place great importance on personal suitability. You may have experience in reception work, open care, or other assignments within IFO Children and Youth. You may also have experience in collaboration between different authorities, including working preventively and promoting.
