Job Advertisement: Researcher in Geology

Job Responsibilities
Collaboration with project leader C. Möller at the Department of Environmental and Geological Sciences for the project “Understanding the variation of bedrock material properties with metamorphic conditions”. The current part of the project aims to clarify the polymetamorphic development in the most high-metamorphic part of the Eastern Segment (Sveconorwegian province). The work includes EBSD analysis and trace element analysis of accessory minerals.
The job responsibilities include:
- Sample preparation for EBSD.
- EBSD analysis with evaluation and interpretation.
- Preparation and execution of in-situ trace element analysis.
- Compilation of results for publication.
Requirements for Employment
- PhD in geology.
- Excellent command of English, both spoken and written.
- Research experience in mineralogy and petrology.
- Extensive experience in EBSD analysis.
- Research experience including petrographic analysis of metamorphic minerals and microchemical analytical techniques.
Desirable Qualifications
- General knowledge of the geological conditions within the study area.
Consideration will also be given to good collaboration skills, drive, and independence, as well as how the applicant, through their experience and competence, is assessed to complement and strengthen ongoing research within the department and contribute to its future development.
Conditions
Fixed-term employment (SÄVA) from 2026-02-01 to 2026-02-28. The position is part-time at 50% of full-time.
