About the Department

The primary task of Transfusion Medicine is to provide safe blood components and transfusion medical analyses for patients in NU Healthcare.

At Transfusion Medicine in Trollhättan (NÄL)/Uddevalla, 23 employees work across all areas of transfusion medicine: blood donation, component preparation, and immunohematology. Our work is characterized by a strong focus on quality.

About the Job Responsibilities

Our operations include three areas: GeBlod (blood donation), component preparation, and immunohematology (blood grouping/compatibility testing).

In blood donation, you will work with healthy blood donors, from booking appointments to blood collection.

In component preparation, you will handle the collected blood and prepare the various components: erythrocytes, plasma, and platelets.

Additionally, we have a large immunohematological analysis operation where we perform blood groupings, investigations, and compatibility tests that are preparatory for potential transfusions to patients.

About You

We are looking for a licensed biomedical analyst, preferably with previous experience in transfusion medicine.

You need to be quality-conscious, meticulous, and enjoy a job that involves varying tempos. You are expected to have good teamwork skills to prioritize work together with colleagues. You should enjoy working both in a team and independently. It is important to us that you, as an employee, feel involved, take initiative, and engage in developing the operations together.

Our work requires you to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
