About our workplace

Department 238 focuses on cardiology. Here, we care for patients with heart diseases such as myocardial infarction, unstable angina, heart failure, and arrhythmias. We also have intermediate care beds where we treat patients who need a higher level of care but do not fully require intensive care. The department has 17 beds and is divided into three groups based on care level:

• Cardiology side: Here, patients who need telemetry monitoring are cared for, with common diagnoses including atrial fibrillation and heart failure.
• HIA (heart intensive care): HIA offers ischemia monitoring and we encounter patients with myocardial infarction, unstable angina, pulmonary edema, or more severe arrhythmias.
• IMA (intermediate care): On our IMA beds, patients with a closer monitoring need are cared for. Common diagnoses in IMA include sepsis, ketoacidosis, intoxications, and respiratory failure.

If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will participate in the Clinical Foundation Year, which is our introductory program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us. It includes lectures, nursing supervision, and practical training of your profession at the Simulation Center. Additionally, it includes service in at least two different departments to broaden your competence.
