However, you need to have a desire to create quality of life for other people. Working as a substitute means you will be paid hourly and step in as needed when someone is absent from the operation.

⭐Job Responsibilities

What does it mean to work as a substitute?

When you have been hired as a substitute, you will receive an oral overview from the unit manager/coordinator and an introduction at the workplace together with regular staff who will familiarize you with the tasks. The number of introduction sessions may vary.

You will enter your availability into our substitute system, Time Care Pool. The operation runs every day of the week, day and evening, and we prefer that you make yourself available for at least three shifts per week.

In home care, we work with planned visits in the form of care and service interventions. Some tasks you will perform independently, but colleagues are always nearby if you need help. Other tasks you will perform together with colleagues. Your assignment includes having a good and service-oriented approach towards users, relatives, colleagues, and other partners.

You will:

  • Provide support and assistance with transfers, showering, toilet visits, dressing and undressing.
  • Serve meals and do some cooking.
  • Supervision, respite, escorting.
  • Cleaning, laundry, walking, and digital shopping.

As a substitute, you need to complete and be approved for a medication training course provided by the municipality in order to receive medication delegation.

⭐Qualifications

We are looking for you who are interested in working in home care. It is advantageous if you have previous experience in the healthcare profession.

To work in home care, a B driver's license or the ability to cycle is required.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.

What does our recruitment process look like?

  • Selection and interviews take place continuously during the application period based on the needs of the operations.
  • You need to provide two managerial references, one of which should be your current or most recent manager. If you have had one or no job previously, you can provide another relevant reference, such as a supervisor or teacher. Please contact your references before you enter their contact details.
  • If you have previously been employed by Kungälv Municipality, we will contact your former manager to obtain internal references as part of our recruitment process.
  • For those who are not citizens of the EU/EES area, a work permit is required; this does not apply to those with permanent residence permits. The work permit must be presented at the interview.
  • In this recruitment process, you do not need to attach a cover letter; instead, you will need to answer several selection questions.
