Jönköping District Court is a general court handling criminal cases, civil cases, court matters, and bankruptcy cases. The court has two case divisions and an administrative division. The workplace, with around 60 employees, is characterized by close cooperation among staff, and the work environment is marked by responsibility, engagement, and a holistic perspective.

The operations are conducted in modern premises next to Munksjön in central Jönköping, close to the travel center.

Summer Clerk 2025

Are you a law student looking to gain practical experience in court work? Are you considering a future within the legal system? Welcome to apply for a summer clerk position at Jönköping District Court.

Responsibilities

As a summer clerk, you will participate in the daily work and gain insight into the various tasks that occur at the court. The tasks largely correspond to those performed by newly hired clerks at the court. You will see how practical court work is conducted. The work as a summer clerk includes participating in the preparation of cases and matters, taking minutes during hearings, writing drafts of judgments and decisions, and conducting legal research. Other tasks that occur at the court may also be included in the position.

The overall goal of the summer clerkship is to provide the summer clerk with insight into the daily court work and the various cases and matters that occur at a district court. This primarily happens by giving you the opportunity to participate in practical work, which may also include tasks at the court's office.

Qualifications

The criteria for applying for the position of summer clerk are that you have completed at least up to the fifth term of the law program at the time of application. You must have completed procedural law as well as criminal and civil law in your legal education. You should have at least one term left of the law program after the employment period.

You have good grades from completed parts of the law education as well as good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form. You convey information clearly and simply, both verbally and in writing. Other important qualities include attention to detail, analytical ability, good collaboration skills, and the ability to organize and plan your work.

The employment lasts for nine weeks, from June 9 to August 8.
