One of Söderbymalmsskolan's teachers is on leave. We are looking for a substitute teacher in Swedish and English for the spring term of 2025, with the possibility of extension in the fall.

Söderbymalmsskolan is a large school with grades 7 - 9, and approximately 500 students attend here. On July 1, 2021, we moved to a brand new school building located right next to the commuter train, bus terminal, and green areas. The school is purposefully designed, and each classroom has its own group room, interactive whiteboards, sound-absorbing student desks, and excellent digital connectivity. We have a large school restaurant with its own kitchen. Our new bright modern facilities are centrally located in Haninge with paid parking options and close proximity to shopping centers, restaurants, natural areas with swimming, skiing, and running trails, buses, and Handen's commuter train station, only 23 minutes from Central Station. Haninge municipality offers its employees wellness vouchers, and there is a well-equipped gym in the municipal building located 500 meters from the school, which is free for municipal employees.

Söderbymalmsskolan has had around 90% certified teachers so far. We have six lead teachers. We are an IT school, and all students have their own computers. Our students work in Google Workspace, and results are monitored in the digital tool Unikum. At Söderbymalmsskolan, everyone shares a common focus on increased goal fulfillment, and we highly value knowledge in all subjects. We have high expectations.

In our student health team, there is collaboration among a school nurse, a study and career counselor, and three full-time social workers. We have an active student council and a safety team at the school that acts immediately if something happens.

Description of the staff group

About 70 staff members work at the school. Workplace surveys clearly show that the satisfaction at the school is high, and our approach to each other is mentioned as one of the factors contributing to this. We have a stable and competent teaching staff that wants to develop their teaching together, and therefore we meet weekly in subject groups to co-plan lessons; we are happy to share more about this.

Your assignment

Teach grades 7-9. Mentorship. Collaboration with other teachers and staff at the school.

Your qualifications

You have a teaching license. You have experience working with students in grades 7-9. You have strong communication skills, great patience, and experience working with students in need of special support. You have well-developed collaboration skills and an interest in working with your colleagues regarding the students. You have good leadership skills and personal maturity. You are empathetic, proactive, and feel a strong commitment to all students. You know what CPS is and share the value base "students do right if they can." You have basic IT skills.
