What we do and want

The Diversity Unit currently has around 30 employees and offers mother tongue instruction and study guidance in over 20 different languages throughout the municipality.

We have a culture where everyone in the unit collaborates and takes joint responsibility to ensure the quality of our work. The organization is characterized by collegial learning, where experiences and knowledge are continuously shared and developed. We are now looking for someone who wants to help shape tomorrow's mother tongue instruction in Albanian.

About the position

You will teach Albanian from preschool to high school. You will work independently to plan and implement teaching at various levels, often in heterogeneous groups where the Curriculum, Lgr 22 with the national syllabus in the subject of mother tongue is guiding. You will collaborate with colleagues and have teaching assignments at several schools.

The position is a permanent employment with a monthly salary upon qualification for the position, part-time at about 15%. Start date 2026-01-07.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are a qualified mother tongue teacher or have documented foreign pedagogical university education and can teach Albanian. You have a contemporary language and follow the linguistic development of the mother tongue. You also have documented knowledge of the Swedish language (at least SAS 3) and can communicate fluently in speech and writing since the position involves daily contact with Swedish-speaking colleagues, pedagogical documentation, and administrative work in Swedish.

Experience working as a mother tongue teacher or study guide is an advantage.

Knowledge of Swedish society is necessary as well as knowledge of our governing documents. We use digital tools in our work and would like you to be curious and experienced in IT usage. A driver's license and access to a personal vehicle is an advantage (not a requirement) - as you will have the entire municipality as your work field.

In addition to your skills and experiences, we place great importance on personal suitability. To succeed in the role of a mother tongue teacher, you need to value close collaboration with colleagues and feel secure in working independently. You should dare to think outside the box and see opportunities in pedagogical work as well as create an environment where students are given the opportunity to succeed and reach their knowledge goals. The role of a mother tongue teacher requires you to be structured, engaged, and flexible. You will be part of a multicultural context with a palette of different cultures.
