Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher for a position within the Network Security Group (NSS) at EECS/SCS.

We seek a highly motivated individual with a strong background in, and interest in, networking systems and privacy. The selected candidate will contribute to one of our ongoing project areas with the goal of creating an environment where the successful candidate can mature into an independent academic after the two-year postdoctoral period. In addition to leading their own research and participating in NSS projects, the selected candidate will also gain experience in student supervision and mentorship. The work will be conducted in collaboration with Prof. Panos Papadimitratos.

The NSS group designs and builds reliable network systems. Our research agenda covers a range of security and privacy issues. Qualifications

Requirements

• PhD degree or foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD. This eligibility requirement must be met by the time the employment decision is made.
• Well-documented scientific competence in network security, data security, and/or privacy-enhancing technology, as evidenced by several top publications as the main author.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English as required in daily work.
• Ability to collaborate well with others in a group.
• As a person, you are highly motivated and independent in your working style.

Meritorious

• At the time of application, no more than three years since obtaining a PhD or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD.
• Teaching ability and documented experience in supervising student project work.
• Previous research experience in security/privacy in AI/ML systems or secure positioning.
• Awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality.
