For over 20 years, Gryning has offered HVB and open care for children, adolescents, and families, emergency and family homes, addiction care, supported apartments, interventions against honor-related violence and oppression, as well as LSS housing. We provide counseling and training and assist with placements. Gryning is owned by the municipalities in Västra Götaland through the four municipal associations.

Unit Honor & Protection

The Honor & Protection unit offers, on behalf of social services, to investigate and assess protection needs and provide protection and care to individuals who require placement due to an external threat. Our primary target group is adolescents aged 14-18 who are exposed to or at risk of honor-related violence and oppression. These youths are placed in our protected HVB. We also have the capacity to offer protection to adults in our apartments around Skaraborg, where the reasons for the protection needs may vary, from honor to domestic violence or connections to gang crime or other types of crime.

We are now looking for a new employee

We are now looking for a new employee for a permanent position at our protected HVB. You will be one of 4 treatment pedagogues working shifts with sleeping on-call at the residence. You will always work together with another colleague to support our protected youth during the evenings and nights. The position is 50%. Working hours are primarily scheduled between 7:30 PM and 8:30 AM with sleeping on-call between 12 AM and 8 AM. You will work on a two-week schedule with two shifts every other week and 5 shifts every other week.

The position often combines well with studies or another part-time job. Thanks to additional compensation, the position offers a competitive salary that may allow you to manage without further work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

What does the position entail?

We work from a milieu therapeutic approach. As a treatment pedagogue on sleeping on-call, your duties include care and supervision of the youth. During the evenings and nights, the focus is on maintaining safety, calm, and security. As a treatment pedagogue on sleeping on-call, you need to document in our documentation system. Acute situations may arise that you need to handle, such as deviations, medical visits, and a risk assessment must be made based on the protection of the youth. You should be a reliable adult who can be present at night if the youth is, for example, anxious or sad.

QUALIFICATIONS

Who are you?

We are looking for someone with at least a two-year post-secondary education, or an equivalent education, focused on social work, social pedagogy, or behavioral science.

If you have experience working in HVB homes, it is an advantage. We expect you to be interested in other cultures, honor, and protection. We are looking for someone who is stable and has the ability to create calm and security. You are responsible, have personal maturity, and good self-awareness. As the work may involve travel, a B driver's license is required.
