We are looking for someone who wants to work with financial assistance.

Working as a summer employee with financial assistance is educational in many ways. The work is largely administrative and involves a lot of legal matters, but can also include contacts with clients. You will gain a good insight into how social services work in general, and since collaboration is an important part of financial assistance, a summer job with us also provides good knowledge of other authorities' regulations. If you enjoy a varied workday, this is a perfect job for you.

The work with financial assistance takes place in Lidköping Municipality according to a working method focused on supporting individuals to achieve self-sufficiency primarily through work or studies. This means that most people applying for financial assistance are referred to the Employment Unit, where a coach works with the participant to create a plan with appropriate measures towards self-sufficiency.

Financial assistance and Counseling also coordinate parts of the Social Welfare Sector's work with housing issues, are responsible for the Social Welfare Sector's reception on Fiskaregatan, and manage the municipality's budget and debt counseling, which under contract also provides services to the municipalities of Götene, Skara, and Grästorp.

Job Responsibilities

As a summer substitute in the Financial Assistance and Counseling unit, you will handle applications for financial assistance. This involves investigating, assessing, deciding, and implementing according to applicable legislation and guidelines. For each application, the caseworker investigates whether the individual has followed their planning with, for example, the Employment Service and the Employment Unit, as this is the basis for the right to financial assistance.

Qualifications

We welcome applications from those who have completed or are pursuing education as a social worker, social educator, social psychologist, lawyer, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. Experience working with financial assistance is an advantage. We expect you to be an empathetic and secure person with very good personal maturity and collaboration skills, and that you contribute to a good work climate. You should be able to work independently and have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
