Job Responsibilities
We are now looking for a support assistant for the housing support at Västra Hisingen!
The Housing Support Västra Hisingen implements decisions within housing support with a special focus on target groups within social psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, and comorbidity.
The unit consists of about 22 employees, one of whom is a Support Pedagogue. We are based at Länsmanstorget where our operational premises are conveniently located near good transportation links.
About the role of housing supporter:
As a housing supporter, you provide support to individuals living in ordinary housing and meet a broad target group, including individuals with mental disabilities, neuropsychiatric diagnoses, comorbidity, and substance abuse issues. The work requires you to be independent, responsible, and have a pedagogical and motivating approach. You support users in utilizing their resources and creating change in their daily lives.
The interventions may include practical and social support at home, creating and maintaining structure and routines, strengthening social contacts, promoting meaningful activities, breaking isolation, and working to prevent eviction. Since several users have pets, you need to be comfortable working in such environments.
You will play a central role in collaborating with social workers and other stakeholders such as healthcare, the Employment Service, the Social Insurance Agency, and other authorities. Social documentation and the establishment of implementation plans are important parts of the assignment. Together with your colleagues, you will continuously evaluate and follow up on interventions to help the user achieve their goals and to develop the unit.
To perform the work effectively and flexibly, you will have access to your own work phone and laptop.
The working hours are mainly during the day, but shifts until approximately 7:30 PM may occur based on the users' needs. Since we collaborate with other units, you should be prepared for some of the work to take place in other operations. We use Time Care Planning for scheduling.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The educational requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability area that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or a combination that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for individuals with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
Communication and documentation are important parts of the job, which requires you to have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.
We also require that you have at least one year of experience working with the target group in psychiatry and NPF. Additionally, a B driver's license is required, as the job involves travel in the service and may occur in different parts of the area.
It is advantageous if you have experience with MI, ESL, AAC, LAB, and IBIC. Experience working with substance abuse and homelessness issues is also a merit.
You have a good understanding of how individuals absorb knowledge and their different conditions. You adapt the way you convey your message to the recipient. You work well with others by listening, showing interest, and respect. You understand the common mission and work to make it as good as possible. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work effectively. You ensure that the work is completed on time and follow up on the results. You are motivated to learn new things and develop. You come up with new ideas and take the initiative for improvements.
