Job Responsibilities

We are looking for two support assistants for Stora Tolsereds väg BmSS!

This is a group home with special services consisting of six apartments for clients with psychiatric diagnoses such as bipolar disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, emotional personality disorder, or psychosis.

Here, 6 clients aged 50-67 live, who need support and care due to mental disabilities. The group home is designed to create a safe and homely environment where residents can receive assistance with daily activities, cultural activities, and social interaction.

As a support assistant, you will work both independently and alongside colleagues to support tenants in their daily lives and contribute to a safe and independent life. Your mission is also to create security for the clients and give them the opportunity to participate in their daily lives based on their individual circumstances. You are also tasked with encouraging, supporting, and motivating them to develop their independence and social participation. The work includes health and medical care interventions by delegation, collaboration with psychiatry and home care, as well as support in daily chores such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and personal hygiene. You will also participate in establishing, implementing, and following up on routines and action plans to provide the right support based on individual needs.

There is a support educator at the workplace who guides daily work. The work environment may involve passive smoking and contact with pets (fur animals). Challenging behaviors and solitary work may occur.

You will work on a schedule, and working hours are allocated to daytime and evening hours as well as every other weekend. Some work time may occur in other activities. We plan the schedule time in TimeCare.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a degree from the Health and Care program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or educational work. The educational requirement is also fulfilled if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability area that includes at least 200 YH points, 120 university credits, or a combination in between that corresponds to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and service for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Communication is an important part of the job, which requires that you have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit.

Experience working with people with mental and neuropsychological variations is a requirement.

If you have experience with knowledge of ESL, MI, and low-arousal approaches, these are considered meritorious. Experience with social documentation and knowledge of IBIC is also seen as meritorious.
