Teacher for After-School Program Wanted at Tegelhagen School

We are currently looking for a primary school teacher for our after-school program for grade 1.

Tegelhagen School is located in a picturesque area in southern Sollentuna. The school has approximately 630 students from grades F-9. Our vision is safety, community, and learning. Our students are motivated to study, and we work with our core values every week to maintain the safe climate that prevails at the school. The school has a developed focus on digital technology. We operate in a modern new school building, where school and after-school activities collaborate. We have high expectations of our students, who are challenged in their knowledge development in various ways. In addition to digital competence, we place great emphasis on movement, outdoor education, and outdoor life. The school actively works to develop pedagogical practices, and in the past school year, the after-school program has been reorganized to align even more with the school's vision of safety, community, and learning. Tegelhagen School is a workplace where employees enjoy working with each other and with the students. Our students are involved in shaping our activities and planning the offered activities. The educators in the after-school program collaborate across grade boundaries. The majority of the educators in the after-school program are primary school teachers.

The school has a student health team that includes three special teachers, a school nurse, a school psychologist, a counselor, career advisor, two assistant principals, and a principal, as well as collaboration with Sollentuna municipality's school and family team. The school is Olweus certified, which means a structured and continuous preventive anti-bullying effort.

Job Responsibilities

As a student in Tegelhagen School's after-school program, students should feel comfortable, safe, and challenged to participate in a versatile activity that is based on Lgr 22 and the students' wishes. You will work in an after-school program and collaborate with all the school's educators. Together with colleagues, you will develop the program to be the very best for our students. We strive for a working method that is structured, planned, and well anchored in governing documents. During school hours, you will collaborate with teachers, and in the afternoon, you will work in the after-school program and create, together with your team, a meaningful after-school activity for the students. Our focus on outdoor education means that you should enjoy working outdoors to thrive at the school. Supervising students during breaks is a natural part of the job, and we welcome candidates with previous experience in organizing and conducting effective break activities.

Qualifications

We are looking for a university-educated primary school teacher with a focus on after-school programs who wants to be involved in and drive the development and take responsibility for our after-school program, preferably with a focus on sports as physical education is part of the assignment.

You have the ability to encourage and inspire our students to dare to try new activities and are clear and structured in your leadership. You enjoy collaborating and have a holistic view of the program. We are looking for someone who wants to help develop the after-school program based on the curriculum, focusing on learning and safety in the after-school environment.
