Southern Military Region Seeks Security Protection Officer
The Southern Military Region is looking for a Security Protection Officer with a focus on control activities for a civilian position in the regional staff's intelligence and security department (J2) based in Revingehed.
About the Southern Military Region
The Southern Military Region is a military unit with a staff consisting of continuously serving officers and civilian employees. The commander of the Southern Military Region leads subordinate units, collaborates with regional and local actors, directs security and intelligence services, and supports operational and tactical commanders in solving tasks within the region. The Southern Military Region covers the geographical counties of Östergötland, Jönköping, Kalmar, Kronoberg, Blekinge, and Skåne.
Main Responsibilities
The Intelligence and Security Department (J2) is seeking a security protection officer focused on control activities regarding security protection. The department's task is to develop and share the regional security threat picture, plan, lead, and evaluate security protection controls, and manage security reporting. In the role of Security Protection Officer, you will drive the work of planning, leading, and evaluating security controls. You will also participate in the follow-up of security reporting, protected and security-threatening activities. Responsibilities include physical security, information and IT security, personnel security, signal protection, and security investigations. The role's particular focus is on working proactively and actively with security protection services within the Military Region's area of responsibility, where the follow-up of completed control activities is a central part. Advising operational managers and leaders is a natural part of daily work. You will collaborate with the Armed Forces' units, other authorities, and other civilian actors on security protection issues.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Solid work experience in the field of security protection services
- Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing
- Good administrative skills
- Completed and approved post-secondary education at the bachelor's level in a relevant field as deemed by the employer
- Class B driver's license

DESIRABLE
- Previous service in a security position within the Armed Forces
- Trained security manager within the Armed Forces or equivalent
- Trained in the IS/US data system
- Experience in conducting security protection planning
- Experience in conducting supervision or control within security protection
- Experience in training and lecturing
- Experience in staff work
- Knowledge and experience of government work
- Education/experience in information security
Other
Employment type: Permanent with a six-month probationary period for those currently not employed within the Armed Forces.
Salary: Individual salary setting.
Start date: By agreement.

The Southern Military Region (MR S) is a military unit and an organizational unit where the Commander and Staff are located in Revingehed. The organization consists of a Commander with staff, five military region groups for training and support of the Home Guard, and about 7000 Home Guard soldiers organized into eleven battalions and several independent units. The Commander of MR S with regional staff leads subordinate units, collaborates with regional and local actors, directs security and intelligence services, and supports operational and tactical commanders in solving tasks within the region.
