The Construction Companies work for an attractive, healthy, and safe construction and civil engineering industry where companies compete on fair terms. We are now looking for someone with a strong interest in community building, good networking skills, and a strong personal drive!
About the job
Our member companies are organized into local construction associations that belong to five geographical regions. As the industry and association manager in Skaraborg, you will belong to the West region and drive the work in the local construction association. This means you will be the convener for meetings and board meetings, the primary contact person for the association, and create activities for the members. You will work to capture the prioritized issues of the members through collaboration groups, networks, and company meetings to then raise these in relevant forums. The work is varied and interesting in a dynamic organization. No day is the same, and you will constantly face new challenges and exciting meetings with people.
The West region consists of 15 employees, and you will collaborate with everyone, but especially closely with the two other colleagues in similar positions. The colleagues in the region have different areas of responsibility and expertise, such as labor law, skills supply, business policy, and sustainability.
Your tasks include
• driving the association work by calling and leading meetings, as well as documenting and organizing the assembly. You will be the presenter in the Skaraborg Construction Association board and in the appointed committees, as well as planning, administering, and executing its meetings and activities.
• creating local activities related to our focus areas, which include skills supply, fair competition, collective agreements and labor law, safety, and climate transition.
• organizing member activities such as networking events, lectures, and study visits.
• translating national and regional goals into local activities.
• engaging in dialogue with authorities and politicians regarding our focus areas.
• together with colleagues in the region representing the Construction Companies, the local construction association, and member companies towards authorities, business, media, trade unions, and educational institutions.
• participating in various collaboration groups and acting together with member companies to drive the Construction Companies' issues locally.
• improving the local conditions for member companies through advocacy work.
• collaborating, planning activities, and sharing experiences with other industry and association managers in the organization.
Your profile
We prefer that you have experience from the business world, preferably the construction sector, and from leading and organizing groups, meetings, and activities. It is advantageous if you have knowledge of the community building sector and business policy. To succeed in this role, it is important that you have a structured working method, can express yourself easily in speech and writing, and are good at building networks and maintaining good relationships.
We highly value personal qualities and previous assignments, as well as relevant education in areas such as community building, communication, HR, or political science.
As a future employee, it is also important that you can identify with the organization's values of joy, engagement, and professionalism.
We offer
We apply trust-based working hours and have a lower working time measure than the normal forty-hour week. In addition, we offer wellness benefits, reduced working hours, health insurance, and group insurance. We have a remote work policy that allows you to work remotely to some extent in agreement with your manager.
The position is a permanent employment that begins with a six-month probationary period, and in other matters, the employment agreement between the Construction Companies and Ledarna, Sveriges Ingenjörer, Unionen applies.
Other
The position is located at our regional office in Gothenburg and/or in Skövde.
At the regional office in Gothenburg, you will sit together with 17 colleagues from the Construction Companies who work for the region, nationally, or in our educational activities. A placement in Skövde means that you will not sit together with any colleagues from the Construction Companies, but possibly in the same premises as partners.
