Accountant to Ystad Energi

Ystad Energi is in an exciting phase of development. The energy industry is changing rapidly, and as a local, municipally owned company, we have both the opportunity and the desire to drive that change – with stability, sustainability, and long-term thinking as our foundation.

We are now strengthening our finance department with an accountant who wants to take broad responsibility, contribute with their experience, and at the same time help shape the future ways of working.

About the role

We are looking for someone with good experience in accounting work and who feels confident in the year-end closing process, but who also enjoys a role where not everything is neatly packaged. With us, there is an opportunity to influence both content and working methods based on your skills, your suggestions, and the needs that arise along the way.

The role is broad and involves responsibility for several parts of the ongoing accounting in our four companies: Ystad Energi AB, Ystad Energi Elnät AB, Ystad Energihandel AB, and Ystad Energi Service AB. You will work closely with your colleagues in the finance department, and together you will drive both the daily work and development issues forward.

Examples of tasks:

• Monthly and annual financial statements
• Ongoing reconciliations, accruals

• Work with fixed assets and ongoing projects (e.g., project accounting or investments) is a must

• Management of fixed assets, internal invoicing, and inventory including master data
• Regulatory reporting
• Participation in improvement projects and development of internal processes
• Internal control

We understand if technical terms like kWh, kW, and pellets are not a natural part of your vocabulary today. This is not a barrier but rather part of what you will learn in the role. You do not need to be knowledgeable about energy, but you are curious and find it stimulating to understand the industry you work in.

Who we are looking for

We believe that you have worked with accounting for several years and that you have a good understanding of both the big picture and the details. You do not need to have experience from the energy industry, but you have an interest in socially beneficial activities and understand the importance of structure, transparency, and quality.

You are self-driven, responsible, and collaborative, and you thrive in a work environment where people help each other and make each other better. Among your personal qualities, we also find the ability to take action where you both identify and solve arising problems.

Meritorious:

• Experience of independent monthly and annual closing work, preferably in companies with multiple units or group structures
• Good understanding of inventory management in accounting – especially in companies with technical or service-oriented operations
• Experience working in financial systems with the ability to influence system settings and structure (e.g., chart of accounts, master data, parameters)
• Good ability to analyze numbers and present financial information to operational managers

• Experience from a similar role in companies with multiple legal entities
• Knowledge of Unit4 ERP (Business World)
• Experience from the energy industry or municipal operations

Ystad Energi is owned by Ystad Municipality and consists of four companies with a total of about 35 employees. We generate approximately 310 million SEK per year and have a strong local presence. We offer our customers electricity networks, electricity trading, district heating, street lighting, and fiber with a focus on security, the environment, and service.
