Operational Area Stockholm East

The operational area Stockholm East includes the closed prisons Österåker and Täby. The largest professional group is prison officers, but there are also healthcare staff, administrative staff, teachers, production leaders, etc. The inmates are engaged in education, treatment programs, workshop production, assembly and packaging work, and other structured activities. The Österåker prison is located outside Åkersberga and can be reached by car or bus. The operational area is currently in an expansive development phase where Österåker Prison is building new residential buildings with prison places and associated facilities for employment for gradual commissioning from 2025-2027.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a security technician in the operational area Stockholm East (Österåker and Täby), you will work with high-tech security systems in a high-security environment. You will be responsible for the development, operation, maintenance, service, and troubleshooting of the facility's security technical installations, IT infrastructure with servers, clients, switches, etc. The systems include fire alarms, locking and access systems, telephony, RAKEL, alarms, IP-connected camera systems with image storage servers, and an overarching IP-connected alarm communication system.

Currently, there is one security technician in the operational area with whom you will share the responsibilities. You will also collaborate and exchange experiences in your daily work with security technicians at other prisons and remand prisons.

You will be stationed at Österåker prison but will also perform work at Täby prison.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is service-oriented, has good collaboration skills, and can easily adapt to different situations that arise in the operation. Furthermore, we see that you have a good ability to weigh complex information into a whole, the ability to independently plan and organize your work, and to complete tasks on time. Since your work is a necessary function for the operation of the facility, it is important that you are flexible and attentive to needs that arise. You also need to have a physical condition that allows for more practical work when the situation requires it.

You have a genuine interest in security technology and security work, but to thrive and succeed in your role, it is also important that you share Kriminalvården's fundamental values of a humane view of people, respect for the individual, and belief in human development. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in technology/IT or a high school education in technology/security/IT, as well as relevant further education in one or more overarching alarm systems, CCTV, and IP networks.
• Work experience as a security technician or equivalent work experience that the employer deems relevant.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• A valid driver's license (B).

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working within Kriminalvården's technical systems.
• Experience working with service as described in the above job description.
• Experience working with self-inspections.
• Experience in IT network cabling.
• Experience in key and lock management.

Some positions are placed in a security class, and a security review with a background check will be conducted before a decision on employment is made. For positions with a higher security class, you must be a Swedish citizen but may have a foreign background.
