The Swedish Armed Forces is looking for a network technician based in Berga.
About the Position
As a network technician in the Swedish Armed Forces and FMTIS, you play an important role in a successful team within an agency that is in strong growth. The work is varied and is mainly carried out at the Armed Forces' premises in Berga and to some extent at other locations in Haninge, but other parts of the country may also be involved.
About the Organization
FMTIS has five units that perform operation and maintenance of the Armed Forces' command systems. The Implementation Unit Mitt is one of them. The unit has a geographical spread in central Sweden as well as Visby and is staffed with both military and civilian personnel. The Implementation Department Haninge consists of three sections with different focuses, and the number of employees in the department currently totals about 40.
Main Responsibilities
We are currently looking for network technicians to strengthen our team in Berga. As a network technician, you belong to a group of experienced technicians and engineers who work daily to maintain and develop the Armed Forces' network. The tasks mainly consist of configuring, troubleshooting, and documenting network equipment. We are looking for someone who is either newly graduated from a two or three-year network education or has several years of work experience in network technology.
Since travel within the unit's locations may occur, a B driver's license is required.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in networking, or equivalent competence as assessed by the employer
- Good general IT knowledge
- Fluent in speaking and writing in Swedish and English
- Good analytical skills
- B driver's license with manual transmission
- At least one year of work experience

Meritorious
- Current and relevant work experience in IT systems, IT equipment, and IT communication
- Experience in ITIL process work
- Experience in IT security work, e.g., information security
- Experience working in IT projects
- IT certifications from e.g., Microsoft or Cisco
- Familiarity with the Armed Forces' material

Other Information
Employment type: permanent. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those who are not employed by the agency.
