Vote Counter at the County Administrative Board of Skåne

The County Administrative Board of Skåne is a government authority at the regional level responsible for state administration in the county. We work to ensure that national goals are implemented in the county based on regional conditions. Within our assignments, we provide advice, permits, supervision, plans, and strategies. We manage natural areas and distribute financial support. We collaborate with stakeholders throughout the county.

We have approximately 600 employees and offices in Malmö and Kristianstad.

On Sunday, September 13, 2026, elections will be held for the parliament, regional council, and municipal council.

The County Administrative Board is the regional electoral authority and is responsible for the final vote counting.

To carry out the vote counting, the County Administrative Board will hire about 200 vote counters for approximately 8-10 days. Your main tasks will consist of verifying ballots and counting the number of personal votes for each candidate. You will be part of a counting group with four other people.

We will conduct the vote counting in Malmö and expect the work to take place during weekdays from September 14 to 23, 2026. Regular working hours are between 08:00 and 17:00 with a one-hour lunch break. Be prepared for overtime on certain days. You must be available to work the entire period, and there is no possibility to deviate during working days. You will be paid hourly.

You will be called to a mandatory training session either on August 25 or 26 in Malmö.

Important qualities for the job include punctuality, accuracy, and the ability to handle stress. You also need to be flexible, have a good sense of numbers, and easily understand instructions. A good ability to work in a team is also essential for doing a good job. Previous experience in election work is an advantage.
