We tackle this challenge with a wide range of adult education and labor market initiatives – and we try new ways to work together with businesses, other administrations, authorities, and civil society. To succeed, we must dare, test new things, and find smart solutions.

We are about 400 colleagues in the administration, and our role is to provide residents with the right tools so they can take responsibility for their own development and livelihood. Additionally, we coordinate the city's work with migration and establishment issues.

We are now looking for a Business Controller who wants to take the next step. We are looking for someone who combines the controller's understanding of operational management with the data analyst's ability to visualize, structure, and predict trends.

Job Responsibilities

Your role: From numbers to insight

With us, you will play a key role close to management and specialists. Your task is not just to report what happened, but to explain why and what we should do now.

Your main responsibilities:

• Strategic Partner: You moderate the management team's discussions on goal fulfillment and support in the work of operational planning and follow-up. You are the one who dares to challenge with facts and who asks the difficult questions when the map does not match reality. You leverage the collective knowledge of the team in the partnership.
• Data-Driven Management: You develop and refine our management models. By linking operational data with financial outcomes, you create analyses that form the basis for strategic choices.
• Visualization & Storytelling: You transform complex data sets into pedagogical visualizations that make it easy for management to understand relationships and trends.
• Proactive Analysis: You do not settle for just collecting data. You ensure quality, structure, and analyze the information to identify bottlenecks and success factors in our flows in close collaboration with the team's collective expertise.

Qualifications

We believe you are someone who gets excited about finding patterns in noise. You probably have a background as a controller, but you are curiously looking at data science and modern analytical tools. You are analytical, communicative, and can work independently as well as be a team player. We expect you to have a structured working method, be meticulous, persistent, and quality-conscious.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree in economics, statistics, computer science, or equivalent.
• Experience in qualified analytical work and operational management, preferably within the public sector or another complex organization.
• A strong ability to see the big picture - to solve complex data challenges and experience in developing and implementing analytical models in operational processes.
• Technical curiosity: You are proficient in Excel and have a very good habit of handling both operational systems and decision support. It is advantageous if you have good knowledge of working in Qlik Sense and experience in coordinating the development of decision support and analytical tools.
• Communicative skills: You can explain statistics to a non-statistician and economics to a social worker.
• Experience working in a politically governed organization in a role relevant to the position.
