The Legal Department is responsible for the legal governance of the agency's operations and for coordinating the agency's regulatory development work. The department also serves as a staff function to the board and the director general in legal matters. The Legal Department needs more lawyers who can think strategically and creatively and who want to help develop and refine the regulations behind all the decisions made by the Swedish Social Insurance Agency each year, making them clearer and more predictable. Above all, it is about using your knowledge and experience to make a difference for individuals and society as a whole.

We are looking for lawyers in the following areas

Responsibilities and tasks

The Legal Support area is responsible for providing legal support in particular regarding public access and confidentiality, administrative law, and security issues, as well as other legal matters for the agency's departments that do not work with social insurance law. You may also participate in the agency's development projects and in the work with consultation responses and the drafting of legislative proposals.

The Legal Governance 1 area is responsible for developing and leading the legal governance of the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's application of social insurance law, among other things by producing governing documents. You work with legal governance for the various parts of the agency's operations in social insurance law. You also participate in the agency's development projects and contribute to identifying regulatory development needs. You participate in the work with consultation responses and the drafting of legislative proposals, in the analysis of court decisions, and in the work with appeals and opinions to the Supreme Administrative Court.

The Regulatory Development area is responsible for the agency's regulatory development work and consultations in legal matters. You handle and respond to consultations and work with the agency's proposals for legislative changes. The tasks span many different legal areas. You handle issues that are current within the Government Offices and are involved in developing applicable law.

The position as a lawyer suits you who want and can work independently, with significant personal responsibility and mandate. It is also beneficial to have an interest in various societal issues. You represent the Swedish Social Insurance Agency in external forums, e.g., in meetings with the Government Offices and other authorities, as well as within the framework of work against abuse and crime in welfare systems. Part of the work involves helping to develop the agency's operations and working methods. You work broadly with many colleagues both within the agency and with other actors such as other authorities.

We are looking for you who

  • have a law degree
  • are qualified as a notary or have experience from other qualified legal work that can be assessed as equivalent
  • have a very good ability to collaborate with others to achieve common goals
  • act on your own initiative and take responsibility for results with high quality
  • have a systematic and meticulous working method
  • can understand and analyze complex issues
  • have a very good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish.

It is advantageous for the Legal Support area to have

  • good knowledge and interest in public access and confidentiality, administrative law, and security issues
  • good experience and interest in providing legal support in governmental legal matters.

It is advantageous for the Regulatory Development and Legal Governance areas to have

  • experience from higher courts in general or administrative courts (e.g., as an assessor, judicial secretary, or rapporteur)
  • experience working in the Government Offices or other relevant experience from an authority
  • good knowledge and interest in social insurance law.

It is also advantageous for the Regulatory Development area to have

  • good experience and interest in handling consultations or working with regulatory development.

For all areas, it is advantageous to have good experience and interest in leading projects.

Other

A number of positions, permanent, full-time, with start date by agreement. A probationary period may be applicable. In accordance with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's security guidelines, background checks will be conducted in this recruitment.

Locations are Gothenburg, Sundsvall, or Stockholm. For the Regulatory Development area, Malmö is also possible.
