Every year, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency makes 21 million decisions that affect people's lives and society as a whole. We disburse approximately 260 billion kronor each year. These are public funds that we manage. It is a significant responsibility. Therefore, we take the time to understand each case, follow laws and regulations, inform and guide, care, and show compassion. This is a job for those who want to take responsibility. Welcome to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency.

We invite you to apply to one of the units at the Swedish Social Insurance Agency that handles income qualifying for sickness benefits (SGI). The workplaces are characterized by driven and engaged employees who work collaboratively to make decisions about SGI in a correct and legally secure manner.

Investigations, calculations, and decisions

As a claims officer, you have an important mission: to help citizens ensure that the right person receives the right compensation at the right time. You provide the conditions for having an overview and feeling secure in all contacts with the Swedish Social Insurance Agency. Each individual has a unique situation that needs to be addressed based on their specific needs. You will have contact via phone and in writing. In your work, you are responsible for conducting investigations based on applicable regulations. You calculate compensations and, where applicable, make decisions regarding compensation. As a claims officer, you handle confidential information, which places high demands on proper management. Therefore, it is crucial that you have a strong sense of security if you are to work with us.

When you work with income qualifying for sickness benefits (SGI), you meet individuals who share the commonality of having varying or unpredictable incomes. These individuals are at different stages in life, ranging from long-term sick individuals to new parents. SGI determines the compensation level for daily allowances, such as sickness benefits and parental benefits. You work based on multiple regulations and gather information about income conditions, calculating SGI based on each specific situation, such as self-employed individuals, students, or people working in another country.

You make decisions on cases from an ongoing queue, which means you must balance quality with quantity. In your work, you collaborate with, among others, the Public Employment Service, the Swedish Tax Agency, auditors, and employers.

Your work includes staffing general telephone support.
