JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to work with our citizens to help them achieve self-sufficiency? We offer the advantages of a smaller municipality with close leadership and short decision-making paths, where every employee has a significant impact on the whole.

In your role as a temporary social worker during the summer, you will process applications for financial assistance, meaning you will investigate, assess, and make decisions regarding the right to assistance according to current legislation and practice. Experienced colleagues will support you in your work, and as part of your introduction, you will receive a mentor to assist you in your daily tasks.

Your workplace will be at Vimmerby City Hall, just a few minutes' walk from the station, which has good commuting options by train and bus.

We need a substitute starting June 2, 2025, or by agreement until August 8, 2025.

QUALIFICATIONS

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is secure, has good personal maturity, and an interest and willingness to work with people. We value good communication skills in your interactions with our applicants, being able to listen attentively, be clear, and, if necessary, use low-arousal responses.

You will work on investigations regarding the right to financial assistance and with social change work aimed at mobilizing and developing individuals' own abilities.

You will collaborate with other units within the Social Administration as well as with other authorities and stakeholders so that applicants can find sustainable solutions in their lives as quickly as possible. You should have an aptitude for building good relationships with clients and partners.

You can work independently, maintain structure and timelines even in unprepared situations. Being meticulous, able to communicate and motivate decisions made is seen as important skills. You need to maintain structure and timelines in your work, even during peak periods and in unprepared situations.

You have a degree in social work or another higher education that the employer assesses as equivalent, or you are a student in the mentioned areas, or have completed your internship in financial assistance. You are an experienced computer user and can express yourself well in both speech and writing. We work in the operational system Life Care, and experience with it is an advantage.
