The Outer School in Hultsfred Municipality is a collective term for the smaller local schools in the municipality. We have Vena School, Silverdalen School, Målilla School, and Emådalskolan in Mörlunda. The schools are led by three principals in close collaboration with each other. We are currently seeking a school counselor for Vena School and Silverdalen School with a salutogenic approach to the student health team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The student health service is a support function for the operations, students, parents, and educators, led by the principal. Here, you will work together with other professionals with the aim of proactive health work for students' development, learning, and health. The student health service for preschool class to grade 6 (F-6) collaborates across school boundaries. You will have your workplace and office at one of the school units.

As a counselor at the municipality's outer schools, you will share the role of counselor with another counselor. Together, you will work with other professionals within the student health service and the principals in the schools' student health teams. You will be a support to school leaders in professional attitudes and responses. Much of your work will be done on behalf of the principals. Your tasks will include:

• Promoting and preventing work with values, relationships, and equal treatment
• Mapping the psychosocial situation of students in need of special support
• Consulting and guiding educators individually and in groups
• Planning and leading group discussions
• Conducting crisis conversations and supportive and motivational talks with students and parents
• Being present in the school's open areas for outreach activities
• Participating in various theme days and interdisciplinary work areas
• Collaborating with internal and external contacts

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who wants to work health-promoting for the best of the student. You are a trained social worker or have equivalent education and experience that the employer deems equivalent. You are engaged and dare to think new and differently with the student's best interests in mind.

Working as a counselor with us means working together with others. You should have the ability to work in a team and be able to translate the school's vision into everyday work. You will become one of the cogs in the student health team, and therefore it is important that you can collaborate, contribute to developing the work in the team, and together with your colleagues take responsibility for the whole.

You, as an applicant, have strong communication skills and good social competence. You take responsibility for your work and have the ability to work independently. In your work, you are flexible and see advantages in working with other professionals in a team.

A driver's license and access to a car are required for the position.

In your upcoming role, it is important that you can balance preventive work with the necessary urgent work that may arise. As a counselor with us, you will be part of a municipality-wide network that has regular meetings. We share and exchange experiences. We make each other better!
