JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Do you want to work together with our citizens to help them achieve self-sufficiency?

The unit for work and support currently consists of 10 employees, one of whom will be on parental leave, and we are now looking for a replacement during the parental leave. We offer the advantages of a smaller municipality with close leadership and short decision-making paths, where each employee has a significant impact on the whole.

From March 1, the unit for work and support will be a merger of the units for Labor Market and Integration and the Unit for Support. You will be an important part of an exciting development project, creating a strong team and new working methods.

In your role as a social worker, you will handle applications for financial assistance, i.e., you will investigate, assess, and make decisions regarding the right to assistance according to applicable legislation and practice. Support in the work includes case conferences with colleagues and external supervision. As part of your introduction, you will also receive a mentor to support you in your daily work.

Your workplace will be at Vimmerby City Hall, just a few minutes' walk from the station, which has good commuting options by train and bus.

We need a substitute starting April 7, 2025, or by agreement until the planned date of August 21, 2026.

QUALIFICATIONS

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is secure, has good personal maturity, and an interest and willingness to work with people. We value good communication skills in your interactions with our applicants, being able to listen attentively, be clear, and use low-arousal responses when necessary.

You will work with investigations regarding the right to financial assistance and with social change work, aimed at mobilizing and developing the individual's own abilities.

You will collaborate with other units within the Social Administration as well as with other authorities and stakeholders so that applicants can find sustainable solutions in their lives as quickly as possible. You should have a knack for building good relationships with clients and partners.

You can work independently, maintain structure and timelines even in unforeseen situations and work peaks. Being meticulous, motivating, and communicating decisions made are seen as important abilities.

You have a degree in social work or another higher education that the employer assesses as equivalent, are a proficient computer user, and can express yourself well in both speech and writing. We would prefer that you have experience in social work and authority exercise within financial assistance. We work in the Lifecare operational system, and experience with the system is an advantage.
