Personal Assistant for Tyra in Kalmar/Öland

We are now looking for a cheerful and open personal assistant for Tyra, our 19-year-old girl in Kalmar/on Öland!

Tyra is a cheerful and social girl who easily connects with you as an assistant. You need to be engaged and see Tyra, as you are there for her! You should be playful and preferably retain your childlike spirit. The job involves play, fun, and many cozy moments together, of course on Tyra's terms!

Tyra is in her third year at a special needs high school and will turn 20 this summer. She currently lives on Öland but will be moving to Kalmar with her family, consisting of her mother, father, younger sister, and older brother, during the spring. We want you as an assistant to feel safe at home with the family and to naturally be a part of Tyra's everyday life! We are looking for a girl in her 20s to 30s who wants to be there and brighten Tyra's days! You do not need any previous experience in personal assistance. We wish for you to have a healthy attitude towards life and possess a sense of security in yourself. You should be calm, empathetic, and caring. Additionally, you need to be social and attentive to Tyra's needs and wishes, but the most important thing is that you are genuinely kind!

Tyra was born with a brain injury which means she needs help and support with everything in her daily life. She has an autism diagnosis, cerebral palsy, and epilepsy. Tyra needs help with both play and communication, during transfers, with her personal hygiene, and daily care. The work thus includes, among other things, dressing and undressing, toilet visits, diaper changes, meal situations, etc. But it also includes a lot of fun and play!

Tyra walks short distances (both indoors and outdoors) but needs someone to hold her hand! For longer distances outdoors, she sits in her wheelchair. Tyra also has a bike where you as an assistant sit next to her and cycle together. Bike rides and walks with the wheelchair are always appreciated!

Tyra enjoys being at home and loves to play with various things. For example, building with plus-plus, duplo, or playing with dolls. Swinging, jumping on the trampoline, playing in the sand, or crafting is also fun! Being together with you as an assistant, playing, and finding activities is one of Tyra's favorite things! She also enjoys reading stories and likes to sit close to you - cuddling and listening! Much is about sensing Tyra's condition and daily form to understand and listen to what she wants, wishes, and needs that day.

The position will be about 40% where you as an assistant work two or three afternoons/evenings per week. Additionally, there will be one Saturday or Sunday every other week.

To work with us, you must have a driver's license and access to a car!
