About the client:

The client is a boy born in 2006, living with his family about 15 km outside Kalmar. The client requires active supervision and has significant care needs around the clock, partly due to epilepsy and irregular sleep patterns. The client is unable to communicate verbally, but through a tremendous presence visible in his body language, facial expressions, and gestures, he clearly shows when he is happy, angry, or sad. He demonstrates recognition of faces and voices, even though he has impaired vision and hearing. In school and at home, he is involved, using aids such as pictures and symbols to enhance behaviors and communication.

The client needs assistance with all basic needs and in ADL situations, such as feeding (the client receives nutrition via a PEG tube), medication, transfers, all hygiene situations, dressing and undressing, toilet visits, etc.

The goal is for the client to manage daily life as best as possible based on his conditions. To maintain his skills, the client needs communication, continuous stimulation, training, and activation, both physically and socially. As an assistant, you will be involved in all these contexts.

About you:

We prefer that you have previous experience working as a personal assistant, or other experience in care and support with children, or are studying in the field. You have a childlike spirit, are cheerful and positive, and have a forward-thinking attitude. Engagement and a sense of responsibility are other important qualities. You need to have social skills and be talkative, as conversation is a crucial part of the client’s personal development. You should also be calm and stable in potentially critical situations.

Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. You must be at least 18 years old.

A background check will be performed on those who proceed in the process.

Specific qualities:

Driver's license, non-smoker. Pets are present in the home.

On-call assistant as needed and during the summer.
