Your Responsibilities

As a CNC operator at Verktygsteknik Småland, you will contribute to the manufacturing of precision components; individually and in shorter series.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Independently perform cutting operations on a multi-operation machine, including CNC preparation and setup.
• Read and interpret drawings
• Manual programming: Edit and adjust CNC programs, as well as read and understand program codes.

Your Profile

As a CNC operator at Verktygsteknik Småland, you need to have a good technical understanding and experience in CNC operator work. You should be able to work independently, take initiative, and be flexible to handle different tasks. You are practical, meticulous, and structured in your work, and have a humble attitude towards developing and learning more.

To succeed in this role, we see that you have:

• At least 5 years of documented experience as a CNC operator/setup technician
• Good knowledge of CAM preparation
• Understanding of and experience in manual programming
• Good knowledge of reading technical drawings, including understanding of positional tolerances and fits
• Material knowledge in metals and aluminum
• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

It is an advantage if you also have:

• Knowledge of Gibbs/Mastercam
• Experience in wire erosion
• Material knowledge in Uddeholm's range of tool steel and special steel for various applications.

What does a typical workday look like?

"I start the day by preparing and setting up the machine, retrieving raw materials, and programming. We work on a project basis, which means that each assignment can be unique and present new challenges, with projects ranging from half an hour to several months. Programming is a large part of the job, which I appreciate as it gives me a chance to develop and deepen my knowledge of the overall production process."
