E.ON is hiring Maintenance Engineer
E.ON is an international privately-owned energy company. 70,000 employees in 15 countries work daily to develop technical innovations and user-friendly customer solutions for the new energy world. We are the first major energy company that truly focuses on future energy solutions through our business areas for smart grids and customer solutions.
Welcome to E.ON – where we drive real change for climate transition. We take responsibility for a better future through stable and fossil-free energy solutions for people, cities, and industries. We are innovative and brave, while also being empathetic and reliable. If you have passion and believe in the power of working together, then E.ON is the place for you.
About us
In our Local Network Distribution team in Norrköping, which falls under Local Network Business, we are 17 employees responsible for the local network in large parts of Östergötland, focusing on reinvestments, projects, maintenance, and documentation. We work collaboratively with our customers to build a sustainable society and drive the development towards future power grids.
As our current maintenance engineer moves on to a new role, we are now looking for a replacement. The rest of the team consists of project managers, designers, project administrators, and documentation technicians.
Your role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you ensure that our maintenance activities are carried out in the most technically and economically efficient way. You collaborate with the team and participate in national networks to develop maintenance processes. With great freedom in the role, you are responsible for managing troubleshooting, maintenance, and inspection of substations and local network lines, while also driving proactive measures to prevent disruptions. You identify and analyze deficiencies, manage inspection remarks, and collaborate with contractors and the team to manage the power grid and implement new working methods. The work is varied and provides an opportunity to build long-term relationships with municipalities, contractors, and other stakeholders.
The position is based at our office in Norrköping and involves some travel around large parts of Östergötland in connection with inspections, documentation, and troubleshooting.
Your experience
To succeed and thrive in the role, we believe that you are a business-oriented person with experience in power grids as well as good local network knowledge and IT skills. The combination of your knowledge and a genuine technical interest in power distribution gives you good development opportunities in the role. Your background could be as an installer, electrical technician, or from the contracting side. Previous experience in proactive management of local networks is highly meritorious.
We believe that the energy transition is driven forward through collaboration and continuous improvement. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is solution-oriented, attentive, and analytical, with the ability to think innovatively and dare to challenge established working methods. You are also a good communicator who builds strong relationships and thrives in varied environments and contexts. Strong self-leadership and the ability to structure and drive your work forward are crucial for the role.
What is it like with us?
With us, you will be part of an engaged and inclusive team that works together to meet future challenges. While you have close collaboration with your colleagues, you are given great responsibility to independently drive your tasks.
Your closest manager, Ulrika Sälg, advocates for a values-driven, engaged, and open culture with close collaborations. She has great trust in the individual, is passionate about developing you and the team, and looks forward to following your successes while also supporting you through challenges.
At E.ON, we actively work with inclusion - it is crucial to drive the energy transition forward. We want you to feel welcome! We strive to create a safe work environment with meaningful tasks and good opportunities for development. We continuously challenge ourselves to create a welcoming workplace, where we hope you will thrive.
We work for a more sustainable energy society, but it is equally important that our employees have the conditions to care for their personal sustainability. Therefore, we offer good benefits to ensure you feel good and have a good balance between work and leisure. Some of these include working hours reduction that is higher than the industry standard, health insurance, free healthcare, and more!
Warmly welcome to apply and join us on the journey towards a sustainable society! The application deadline is January 23.
