Ester Mosessons Gymnasium is Gothenburg's largest vocational school for the hospitality industry, where we train the industry's future stars. Here, aspiring chefs, restaurant managers, food creators, bakers, waiters, café owners, pastry chefs, catering specialists, hotel staff, conference hosts, and tour guides study. We are looking for someone who is qualified in mathematics in combination with another subject at the upper secondary level. You will meet students both in our introductory programs and in our national programs.

Some of our students come to school with poor confidence in mathematics. One way to increase students' interest and engagement is to let the school's vocational profiles permeate mathematics education to make it easier to understand the practical benefits of the subject. As a teacher, you contribute to creating good conditions for the school's students to thrive, develop, and achieve their goals. You communicate the goals of the teaching and clarify your assessment for the students.

As a teacher at the school, mentorship is included. In your role as a mentor, you support your mentee students by being knowledgeable about their needs, following their studies, and working with students and guardians towards realistic goals. The goals for students may vary depending on their prior knowledge and conditions.

You will have close collaboration with your colleagues regarding planning, follow-up, and assessment. As a teacher at the school, you are expected to contribute constructively to the work of providing students with a good education.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a qualified upper secondary school teacher with a teaching license in mathematics and another subject. We prefer that you have current experience in upper secondary education.

You are accustomed to working in digital environments. At the school, we use Google Classroom in our educational work.

You are interested in school development and strive for high quality in teaching and assessment. As a person, you have the ability to inspire and engage within your subjects and easily convey your message. You are structured, flexible, goal-oriented, and open to trying new working methods and approaches. You take responsibility for your tasks and drive the work forward.
