JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a teaching assistant for Bratteberg 4-6. As a teaching assistant, you will work closely with students during school hours to support and guide them in their studies, enabling them to participate actively in lesson activities to the greatest extent possible, considering their limitations. This can be done through practical help during lessons where the teacher plans, participates, and leads activities, as well as through pre-planned instructions from the teacher for assistants to carry out activities independently with the student.

Your main task is to activate, support, and stimulate the student through cognitive support and communication. You inspire and motivate the student, have a positive attitude, and are an engaged and responsible person. You need to be flexible in your approach while also understanding the importance of routines and foresight in your role.

QUALIFICATIONS

We prefer that you have education similar to support pedagogue/therapeutic pedagogue. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. You should have a strong interest in working with students in need of extra support.

You have knowledge of and a willingness to work with students who have autism. Additionally, you have experience working with a low-arousal approach. You are a positive, creative, and curious person with good collaboration skills and enjoy building relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. Knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), such as signs and pictures, is an advantage, as these are tools we use daily to promote students' communication. Personal suitability is of great importance.
