The Department of Medicine, Division of Social Medicine and Public Health, conducts extensive teaching and research in health economics, epidemiological methodology, global public health science, general medicine, occupational medicine, environmental medicine, social medicine, pharmaceutical use, and pharmaceutical policy. We also conduct teaching and research in nutritional epidemiology, insurance medicine, innovation and utilization, and registry epidemiology.
The research conducted within the HEPER (Health Economics, Policy, and Evaluation Research) group, where the research assistant will work, aims to develop methods in health economic and epidemiological research as well as evaluate interventions and policies from a health science and health economic perspective. The research is based on the analysis of large registry data as well as modeling and simulation studies.
The Division of Social Medicine and Public Health is now seeking a research assistant to conduct health economic and epidemiological studies in the field of cancer.
Responsibilities
As a research assistant, you will assist various senior researchers within the group with health economic studies, focusing on modeling, as well as with epidemiological studies that focus on geographical differences in disease burden and various treatment interventions. Responsibilities include working with study protocols, simpler data collection, and data analysis. You will also participate in the group's work to communicate research results through scientific journals and in the effort to seek new research grants.
Qualifications
A master's degree in public health, global health, health economics, epidemiology, or biostatistics is required for the position.
The applicant should be skilled in using the statistical software Stata or R and have good knowledge of extensive database analyses. Experience and skills in conducting health economic cost-effectiveness studies are advantageous. The applicant should have good knowledge of English in both spoken and written form, and knowledge of Swedish in spoken and written form is advantageous.
