Your new role

As a controller at the Church Office, you will be part of a team of five controllers whose main task is to coordinate and drive the economic management of the Church of Sweden at the national level. The controller team is part of the finance and economics department at the Church Office.

Your area of responsibility is primarily to support the Department for Shared Functions, focusing on financial and payroll services. The economic service of the Church of Sweden is under development, and as it expands, you will play a key role in establishing new routines and processes for financial follow-up.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with analysis, business follow-up, and drive improvement work to optimize key figures and ensure sustainable development within the Church of Sweden. You will act as support for the operational managers for financial and payroll services and together with them prepare budgets, forecasts, and follow up on operations. You will work closely with the controller for the IT section.

In addition, you will compile reports and decision-making materials and handle various financial tasks that arise in daily work. Through your drive and professionalism, you contribute not only to the success of the operation but also to creating a positive and supportive work environment.

The role is based in Uppsala, and you report to the head of the finance and economics department.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with experience in controlling, where you feel confident in your work and are used to supporting operational managers. We also see that you have experience in establishing and developing processes for financial follow-up, and it is an advantage but not a requirement to have experience working in larger organizations.

You have good experience in analyzing and following up on business models and operations. Furthermore, you have experience working with budgets and forecasts and good knowledge of Excel. Your pedagogical and communicative skills are strong, and you express yourself well in both speech and writing.

The daily work at the office is led by the Secretary General, who is appointed by the Church Board. The Church Office's premises are mainly located in Uppsala, but also in Lund and Uddevalla.
