Description

Sotenäs Rescue Service consists of two RIB stations (on-call rescue personnel), one station in Kungshamn and one in Hunnebostrand, as well as a fire brigade on Bohus-Malmön.

We are about 60 employees and are part of the Western Rescue Region.

We now want to strengthen our team and are looking for colleagues for our station in Kungshamn. We are looking for more firefighters who can serve in an on-call group or in a pool group.

Responsibilities

Working as an on-call firefighter means that you help create safety in the community. You have another job or are studying but are ready to respond quickly to the fire station when the pager goes off, so that the rescue vehicle can leave the fire station within 5 minutes. You are part of an on-call group that is on duty according to a fixed schedule, usually every fourth week.

You and your group solve tasks together and are dispatched to various emergency situations such as fires, traffic accidents, drownings, and other situations where the need for a quick intervention can be crucial.

Qualifications and personal qualities

To succeed as a firefighter, the following qualifications are prerequisites:

• fully healthy, confirmed by a health examination
• basic fitness, confirmed by a treadmill test
• have a minimum B driver's license and access to your own car
• be a competent swimmer
• live and work within 5 minutes of the fire station in Kungshamn
• permission from your primary employer to leave the workplace for alarms, possible drills, and training

We offer

To provide a solid foundation for the work as a firefighter, you will first receive internal training for about two to three weeks during the first year. After that, you will attend one of MSB's (Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency) rescue service-adapted training or equivalent training that lasts six weeks.

You need to be prepared to obtain a C driver's license (truck), which will be funded by us. To maintain good skills, you will practice approximately 50-60 hours per year, usually in the evenings. Salary is provided for on-call duty, drills, training, and any alarms.
