Business Developer in the Electricity Network

The energy consumption of Gothenburg residents is undergoing change, and in the coming 10 years, there are significant challenges to ensure that the electricity grid can meet demand.

As an electricity network company, we are on a transformation journey with our customers to utilize the electricity grid more effectively. Customers need to be able to influence their consumption, and engagement in energy issues is growing among both individuals and businesses, but it needs to grow even more. Your Task

As a business developer in the Electricity Network, you will work on developing and transforming the business towards greater efficiency, profitability in new products, and increased customer satisfaction. Since the electricity network business is a natural monopoly, the development of the business can occur in various ways. This specific position focuses on data analysis and business insights. By better utilizing data, the ability to make informed decisions increases.

Your Responsibilities:

• Build Gothenburg Energi Net's capability in data analysis as part of the transition to a modern system operations organization, drive development initiatives towards group-wide development functions regarding analysis and IT development, and build the ability to provide platforms, tools, best practices, etc. within the group - an important collaboration to enable GENAB's capabilities in data analysis.
• Draw conclusions and insights from data, present results effectively, and translate insights into concrete initiatives.
• Support the business with data analysis materials, both colleagues and the management team will be recipients.
• Manage and further develop the data analyses needed within GENAB's operations (e.g., various forecasts, customer knowledge analysis, real-time data analysis in the long term) primarily conducted within Microsoft Fabric-based environments (Power BI, Notebooks, etc.) but also other relevant platforms.
• Actively use AI and lead by example for more efficient work in the department and Gothenburg Energi as a whole.

You will work in collaboration both internally within GENAB across various functions and also within the group with the Development and Digitalization function.

Your Team

The Customer and Business Department is a group filled with energy whose purpose is to improve the customer experience, secure electricity network capacity for our customers, and develop business models. With more customer insights, we want to keep pace with our customers and their new needs while also setting the right prices, business models, and ensuring the necessary electricity is delivered.

As part of the team, your focus will be on data analysis, enhancing our capabilities in this area, and developing and standardizing work with data. Many colleagues see a significant need for insights based on the data we currently have, but lack the capability or space to develop this, while there are many unexplored areas where data analysis will likely play a crucial role in the future. Here, you will be able to contribute.

This role is part of our transition journey to a proactive electricity network company with high customer awareness.

Your Qualifications

A degree in economics, marketing, or technology.

The role requires experience in data analysis work and some competence in programming (Python experience is a plus) as well as the use of AI to promote efficient work. 1-5 years of experience in business development and work in the energy sector with an understanding of energy systems is also advantageous.

As a person, you need to have the ability to lead yourself and take initiative. This role will require a lot of collaboration and the ability to interpret and concretize needs from the business; you need to be easy to collaborate with and have a problem-solving analytical ability. In addition, we would like you to be good at communicating, both verbally and in packaged materials, while you will become our specialist in data analysis and need to be able to carry that role. Of course, a business developer also needs to be business-minded and have a holistic view of the organization.
