GIL has coordinated personal assistance since 1989. The cooperative has a legacy from the Independent Living movement, based on the principle that individuals with disabilities know best how they want to live their lives. Typically, the person receiving assistance is their assistants' closest supervisor, or a person with specific in-depth knowledge about the individual is appointed.

As a personal assistant, you will support a person with a disability to live the life they want to live. To attract and retain competent and satisfied assistants, we invest in training and events. We believe that development and meeting others lead to motivated and secure assistants who enjoy and find it rewarding to work with us.

Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, weekends, and nights with 7.25 hours of sleeping on-call, with a working degree of 50%. I am a woman living in Jönköping, who almost requires assistance 24 hours a day, with tasks including care and assistance with everything related to daily life.

There are 2 small happy companion dogs in the home, which means you need to be accustomed to and enjoy dogs. I have a summer cottage, so it is a plus if you, as an applicant, are interested in plants. I participate in water aerobics, so it is important that you can join me in the water and participate.

I would like you to be a good listener, attentive, empathetic, and able to follow instructions easily. It is important that we have good dialogue and mutual respect for each other.

My requirements are:

• You both tolerate and enjoy dogs as they are an important part of my life.
• You have a driver's license and access to a car, as it is part of the job to drive my adapted vehicle.
• I also have a summer cottage that I visit, and it is not accessible by public transport, so it is a requirement that you have your own car.
• You are smoke-free as I cannot tolerate smoke.
• You are a woman.
• You speak and understand Swedish well, as I have a hearing impairment.
• You understand what self-determination means, i.e., the person receiving assistance makes all decisions and plans their daily life, and you support the implementation of that planning.

Start date according to agreement. Introduction will take place on-site.
