Registered Nurse to the Infection Clinic

About the Operation

The Infection Clinic currently consists of ward 27, our infection outpatient clinic, and our sister ward 45, which is focused on hematology and infectious diseases.

The clinic also includes a needle exchange program.

Our task is to provide qualified care, treatment, and nursing for patients with infectious diseases. The specialized infectious disease care has the entire NU Healthcare as its catchment area. The majority of our patients are admitted acutely, and we have a mixed patient group regarding diagnosis, length of stay, and age. We also have extensive consultation and on-call services.

In ward 27, we primarily care for patients requiring isolation. We have 24 beds, and all patient rooms are single rooms with isolation capabilities and outside access. Many of our patients have an acute illness that requires collaboration with other clinics, MIG teams, and ICU. We also conduct investigations of unclear infectious conditions, including tropical medicine.

In the infection outpatient clinic, we conduct investigations, follow-ups, and treatment of patients with infectious diseases. Here we receive patients for both planned and acute visits. The operation also includes our needle exchange clinic. The needle exchange clinic is aimed at individuals who inject drugs intravenously and are registered in the Västra Götaland Region.

About the Position

Together with us at Infection, you will gain broad competence in the care of patients with infectious diseases, and there is an opportunity for deeper knowledge in infectious disease care and/or emergency care. We offer a job with varied tasks, and you will constantly face new challenges.

You will work in close collaboration with competent colleagues from various professional groups such as nursing assistants, specialist and registered nurses, physiotherapists, social workers, secretaries, and doctors. Together, we work to provide high medical quality to our patients!

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse. Training in infectious and/or emergency care is desirable. It is an advantage if you have experience in infectious disease care and/or emergency care. We work in teams around the patients, so it is important to have the ability to collaborate, a holistic view, and flexibility. Here you will be able to develop within your profession. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.

Other

The advertisement refers to a permanent position at 100%, which currently includes night shifts, but this may change over time. Training takes place during the day/evening, with a transition to night in February.
