We are now looking for a caregiver for a permanent position at our forensic psychiatric examination unit in Hisings Backa, Gothenburg.

Your mission

The forensic psychiatry department investigates, at the request of the court, whether a person suspected of a crime committed it under the influence of a serious mental disorder. We also conduct risk assessments when life-sentenced individuals apply for a limited sentence. The forensic psychiatry department consists of two forensic psychiatric examination units located in Stockholm and Gothenburg, as well as a coordination unit located at the headquarters in Stockholm.

The suspects stay at the unit during the investigation period. Under the supervision of a nurse, you will ensure that those admitted for forensic psychiatric examination receive good care and that you, together with colleagues, ensure that security is of high quality. You will receive an introduction for this.

Qualifications

• Nursing education or other education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer.

Meritorious

• Experience working in forensic psychiatric care, psychiatric care, correctional care, or other work that the employer considers equivalent.

Personal qualities/abilities

You have the ability to collaborate with others and meet them in a responsive manner. Furthermore, you have an ethical approach, integrity, and act steadily to handle the work of the organization professionally.

Internal and external contacts are an important part of the job, so it is important that you have good communication skills, which means you express yourself well in Swedish both verbally and in writing.

The tasks also require that you have good physical fitness.

Due to the nature of the work, great importance will be placed on your personal qualities.

The employment

A permanent full-time position that begins with a six-month probationary period, start date by agreement. Placement at the forensic psychiatric examination unit in Gothenburg, Hisings Backa. The National Board of Forensic Medicine applies individual salary setting.

We apply irregular working hours, which means you will work both daytime, evenings, nights, and weekends.

We conduct a background check by checking the criminal record before employment, and we apply a competency-based recruitment process where psychological tests, knowledge tests, or work tests may occur.

Upon employment at the National Board of Forensic Medicine, there is an obligation to be placed in a war position.
