Treatment Assistants/Treatment Pedagogues Wanted at SiS Youth Home Tysslinge
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with addiction. SiS Youth Home Tysslinge, located outside Södertälje, receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial issues as well as criminality and addiction.
Job Description
We are now looking for treatment assistants/treatment pedagogues for summer vacancies in 2025 at SiS Youth Home Tysslinge.
SiS Youth Home Tysslinge is an institution in the highest security class that receives young people with high risks of threats, violence, and absconding.
In the role of treatment assistant/treatment pedagogue, you work in a team and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people in our care receive the structure, safety, care, and treatment they need. We meet young people in crisis, which means we support the individual in their daily life through individually adapted and qualified care and motivational work with clear structures. With the support of your and your colleagues' knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work for planning and follow-up of treatment. You participate in the young people's schooling and leisure activities. Daily tasks may include:
- Conducting inspections of common departmental areas, admitted youths, and living quarters.
- Transporting youths and monitoring during scheduled visits, meetings, and activities outside the department.
- Cleaning.
- Preparing meals.
- Constantly working closely with the youths to ensure good social interaction and safety in the department.
Since SiS Youth Home Tysslinge has the highest security classification within SiS, this means you need to work with a high level of risk and safety awareness. You contribute to maintaining safety in accordance with our written instructions and routines.
This is a job for you who can stand firm, who creates safety and security in the often very difficult life situations of the youths. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. As a public servant, it is important that you act professionally and in accordance with objectivity and legal certainty. As a summer substitute at SiS, you will undergo a tailored introductory training to prepare you for your assignment.
Working Hours and Schedule
Working hours are scheduled, either 100% day, evening, and weekend, or 80% night shifts on weekdays and weekends. The working hours for day, evening, and weekend 100% may look as follows: 08:15-15:45, 08:15-22:15, 09:00-22:15, 11:15-21:15/23:00. The working hours for night shifts 80% may look as follows: 20:45-08:30, 21:00-08:30.
As a summer substitute, you are expected to be able to work on the schedule according to the above times (day/evening or night) between weeks 25-32 (June 16 - August 10). Introduction will take place before the start during weeks 23-24, where the first week is theoretical introduction and the second week is practical introduction on the department.
Theoretical introduction week 23: daytime Monday-Thursday (Friday is a public holiday). Practical introduction on the department week 24: day and evening shifts.
There is a possibility for earlier introduction and extra work during the spring. There is also a possibility to have a substitute position during week 33 and a possibility for continued employment after the summer.
Qualifications

To succeed in your work, you have a humanistic view of people. You are motivated to support people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS's values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a very good ability to create good relationships, engagement, and participation among our youths. As a person, you are secure in yourself and contribute to a good working environment with other staff. You have good communication skills, consistently follow laws, regulations, and routines. You can maintain your calm even in stressful situations. You find it easy to collaborate with various professionals as well as internal and external partners and are happy to share your knowledge with colleagues.
As a treatment assistant, you should have:
- Completed upper secondary education
- Good Swedish in speech and writing
To be employed as a treatment pedagogue, the following is also required:
- Degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or a degree from a university that we assess as equivalent
Meritorious:
- B driver's license
- Experience in youth-related work
- If you have experience working with youths in vulnerable situations
- If you have training in MI (motivational interviewing)
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Please attach grades showing that you have completed upper secondary education, and for treatment pedagogues, attach grades/certificates confirming your post-secondary education.
Employment
Fixed-term employment, summer substitute. Scope: Full-time 100% day/evening or part-time 80% night. Working hours: Irregular working hours according to schedule. Either day, evening, and weekend, or night shifts on weekdays and weekends.
