Job Description

In the role of safety coordinator in Upplands-Bro municipality, you will work with overarching crime prevention and safety-enhancing issues in the municipality. You will be part of a working group of three people responsible for coordinating the municipality's crime prevention and safety-promoting work. The position partially focuses on the municipality's coordinated work with EST (Effective Coordination for Safety), Embrace, and external initiatives.

The role includes shared responsibility for establishing and working from situational assessments, analyzing and coordinating efforts, and collaborating with relevant internal and external actors such as the police, business community, civil actors, and local community.

As a safety coordinator, you will work as part of the implementation of Effective Coordination for Safety, EST, and are expected to coordinate crime prevention and safety-enhancing efforts. You are expected to work based on situational crime prevention with the partners involved in the EST work, including through safety inspections.

You will also be part of national networks regarding the issues the position addresses.

Examples of tasks:

  • Training initiatives for employees in the municipality as well as for the local community.
  • Dialogue sessions with various target groups.
  • Planning and implementation of various theme evenings.
  • Preparation of materials for the political agenda.
  • Reporting in the IT system Embrace.
  • Establishing situational assessments regarding various types of issues.
  • Planning and conducting safety inspections.
  • Collaborating with relevant internal and external actors such as local housing companies, the police, civil society, and businesses.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a bachelor's degree in criminology or equivalent education.
  • Has knowledge and experience in crime prevention work.
  • Has experience in collaboration and/or coordination.

It is an advantage if you have experience in:

  • Working in public service.
  • Experience with the method Effective Coordination for Safety, EST, and the IT system Embrace.
  • Experience in leading projects and writing formal reports.

To succeed in this role, you need to have a developed ability to see the whole while being able to translate overarching perspectives into practical action. You should have very good self-awareness and be easy to collaborate with, inspire, and build partnerships.

The tasks require you to be self-driven, analytical, and have a structured working method. The position requires the ability to coordinate and collaborate with municipal and external parties.

We see that you are accommodating in your approach and clear in your communication. You master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with colleagues and other partners as well as document what the operations require in writing.
