Deputy Manager Wanted for the Administration Unit

We at the Labor Market Administration are looking for someone who enjoys challenges and wants to use their skills to make a difference for fellow human beings in need of support.

Welcome to Us

We are an operation within the Labor Market Administration in the City of Stockholm. The unit is currently under development. Our operations are aimed at adult Stockholmers throughout the city who need a guardian/administrator with special skills. Our mission is carried out on behalf of and in cooperation with the guardianship committee and is mainly governed by the provisions of the Parent Code and the decisions of the district court.

In the role of employed deputy (guardian/administrator), you will monitor rights, manage property, and care for individuals who lack the ability to manage this entirely on their own. Currently, the unit consists of 13 deputies, one administrator, one business developer, and one unit manager. The workplace is centrally located in Stockholm.

Your Role

As a deputy in the Administration Unit, the goal is to create conditions for a good quality of life for your principal. This is based on their economic and personal situation. Often, it concerns individuals with severe mental disabilities, extensive health conditions, addiction, or other serious social issues.

The Administration Unit steps in when it is difficult for a voluntary guardian/administrator to provide adequate support to a person (principal). As a deputy, you will assist/represent your principals in economic, legal, and social matters. You will monitor the principal's rights, manage property, and care for individuals. This is based on a personal appointment from the district court.

The focus of the deputy's assignment is the principal's needs. Work with clear goals and individual follow-ups is an important part of the deputy's work. You collaborate with authorities and other organizations as well as with the principal's relatives if possible. You motivate, guide, and represent the principal in various situations with authorities.

Job Responsibilities

In your role as a deputy, the daily work will include:

  • contacting principals and their networks
  • monitoring the right to care and support and applying for various services/assistance as needed
  • representing the principals before authorities and courts
  • structuring the principals' finances and documentation
  • managing ongoing accounting, annual accounts, and final accounts

The assignments as a deputy mean that you meet the principal where they are. This may involve travel both within and outside the municipality. The administrative work takes place in the office. Based on needs, there may also be some work outside regular working hours. The main work is done during the day.

Your Skills and Experience

You who are applying should have a university degree, for example in economics, behavioral science, law with a focus on family law and social insurance, social studies, political science, or another university degree that the employer finds suitable.

In addition, we see that you have:

  • several years of experience in your professional role meeting people with problematic life situations and difficult social situations
  • experience in various professional contexts having contact with authorities
  • experience from community services such as schools, police, social psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, correctional services, healthcare, social services
  • experience in handling legal and financial matters concerning an individual
  • experience in managing ongoing accounting

As a person, you have an open and positive attitude and you easily adapt to changing circumstances. You see opportunities in changes and can quickly thereafter change your perspective or find new ways forward. Furthermore, you are responsible, good at planning, organizing, and prioritizing work effectively. You are meticulous regarding planning, documentation, and task orientation, and you set clear goals, ensure that work is completed, and follow up on results.

Your approach is based on the principal's needs and characterized by trust in their willingness to be involved and responsible for their own life situation. You show respect and consideration for those you meet in your professional role. You have the ability to create good cooperation with others. To succeed in the role, you need to have a well-developed ability to understand someone else's perspective or situation, be secure in yourself and in contact with others. We will place great emphasis on personal suitability, commitment, and motivation for the position.

When you are hired, you will undergo an introductory training before you receive personal appointments as a guardian/administrator. Before employment as a deputy at the Administration Unit, the guardianship administration will conduct a suitability assessment of you who will receive assignments as a guardian or administrator. As a result, you will need to give your consent for a background check and record extract. Tests may be added as a step in the recruitment process.
