GIL has been coordinating personal assistance since 1989. The cooperative has a legacy from the Independent Living movement, which is based on the principle that those with disabilities know best how they want to live their lives. Normally, the person entitled to assistance is their assistants' closest manager, or a person with specific in-depth knowledge about the individual is appointed.

As a personal assistant, you will support a person with a disability to live the life they want. To attract and retain competent and satisfied assistants, we invest in training and events. We believe that development and meeting others lead to motivated and secure assistants who enjoy and find it fun to work with us.

Personal assistant needed for a 32-year-old guy in Stenungsund for round-the-clock shifts.

The guy lives in his own apartment in central Stenungsund.

During the day, he attends a daily activity program with his assistants, and in his free time, he hangs out in his apartment, socializes with friends, goes bowling, visits Liseberg, swims in heated pools, plays games, listens to music, and much more.

His disabilities mean that he needs help with everything from transfers, meal situations, daily planning, and activities.

Since the guy does not communicate verbally, it is important that you speak and understand Swedish well, as you will be the one interpreting him for his surroundings.

As a person, you preferably have previous experience with disabilities, are social, responsible, and can take the initiative for activities.

Since the guy has access to a car, it is a requirement that you have a driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle.

You must also be a good swimmer, as you will be with him when he trains in the pool.

The position starts as a part-time employment with training during the day, so that you can get to know each other. If you enjoy working together, the position may transition to a fixed-term employment as long as the assistance assignment lasts, with a working degree of 50% with round-the-clock shifts.
