The Hospitals in the West is an administration within the Västra Götaland Region and consists of four hospitals – Alingsås Hospital, Angered Local Hospital, Högsbo Local Hospital, and Kungälv Hospital. About the operation

The Intensive Care Unit is part of the An/Op/Iva operational area and is one of two intensive care units within our administration.

The Intensive Care Unit is of a general nature and consists of a total of 6 intensive care and intermediate care places. You work in a high-tech environment with the patient in focus, and our decision-making paths are short and effective. The facilities are modern, new, and tailored to the operation. Together, we are about 60 intensive care nurses and nursing assistants working with us.

You will receive an individually tailored introduction and follow-up mentoring support to ensure you feel safe and secure in your role. In the department, we work in teams around the patient consisting of anesthesiologists, medical, surgical, and orthopedic doctors, specialist nurses, nursing assistants, and physiotherapists. There is an opportunity to work in different responsibility groups where we cross-professionally develop new routines and also update existing routines according to the latest science. We offer annual A-HLR + A-HLR child training, internal training/refresher days, and scenario exercises using patient simulators. We work with individual scheduling at all hours of the day in a 10-week planning cycle. The summer vacation with us is divided into 2 periods.

Qualifications

You who are applying should be a licensed nurse with specialist training in intensive care. Previous experience in intensive care is an advantage. We believe that you who start with us thrive in a varied work pace and are good at adapting care to the patient's needs. We are looking for employees who complement our group and therefore place great emphasis on personal suitability, where the ability to be independent, professional, meticulous, and have a high willingness to collaborate is highly valued.

Job Responsibilities

We care for patients with threatening or failing vital parameters. We conduct advanced monitoring and treatment around the clock, such as hemodynamic monitoring and respiratory treatment as well as dialysis. The acute postoperative care takes place at nights and weekends when the operation's postoperative unit is closed.

You work in a high-tech environment with the patient in focus. We who work here take great responsibility for the development of the operation and are divided into responsibility groups based on knowledge and interest. We work with Post-ICU and patient diaries.
