Habilitation is specialized health and medical care for children and adolescents with autism, intellectual disabilities, movement disabilities, or acquired brain injuries. We provide health-promoting and therapeutic interventions based on each individual's unique needs and circumstances, and we have specialist knowledge of how disabilities can affect daily life, health, and development.

Temporary Position as Occupational Therapist

We need to add an occupational therapist to our teams and are looking for someone who wants to work, develop, and grow with us.

You will work in a multidisciplinary team consisting of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, special educators, social workers, psychologists, nurses, doctors, and dietitians.

We offer a temporary position until September, with appointment occurring if necessary decisions are made.

Job Responsibilities

As an occupational therapist in habilitation, you will have the opportunity to utilize your full competence and also broaden it. Our operations target children and adolescents with permanent disabilities within various diagnostic groups, including movement disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and autism spectrum disorders.

You will assess patients' abilities and activity levels, plan therapeutic interventions, and implement them together with the patient, guardians, or others in the patient's network. The work is team-based, and you will have close contact with other professionals in your team.

You will also trial and prescribe assistive devices, provide information, guidance, and consultation to patients, relatives, and staff. Collaborating with other healthcare providers and authorities is also part of your responsibilities. We provide interventions both individually and in groups. Work may occur either digitally or physically on-site at the habilitation facilities and, if necessary, in the patient's local environment.

The work is varied. You will be offered an introductory period and a mentor. The child and youth habilitation has good cooperation within the region, and when needs arise, we assist each other between units.

Qualifications

You are a licensed occupational therapist. We prefer that you have experience working in habilitation or that you are accustomed to assessment and therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents with disabilities.

The work involves collaboration with guardians and the patient's network, with other professionals within habilitation, and with other healthcare providers, which places high demands on collaboration skills, flexibility, and good interpersonal skills. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Since travel is involved in the position, you need to have a valid driver's license (B).

The clinic in Gothenburg is centrally located in Hisingen and has very good public transport connections, with both bus and ferry, only 10 minutes from Gothenburg Central Station.
