Nursing homes provide a safe living environment for the elderly with significant daily care and support needs, as well as individuals with dementia. We have eight nursing homes located both centrally and in our surrounding areas. The operation is part of the care and support sector in Skövde municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who wants an exciting and developing job. In the role of specialist nursing assistant with us, you have the opportunity to help create the best living environment for our users based on a person-centered approach. You are a large and important part of the residents' well-being, and our work is based on our guiding principles of safety, responsibility, and respectful interaction. You work carefully and professionally in collaboration with others in the team and in close contact with our users. This also means working for good cooperation with other professional groups and relatives.

In addition to the basic duties of a nursing assistant, this role involves increasing knowledge about the professional approach, situation-adapted and person-centered, in working with the elderly. You will guide and support colleagues regarding interaction and communication in the work.

You will create understanding and participation among colleagues for specific working methods and contribute to colleagues and the workgroup reflecting. You also need to be active in the quality and improvement work of the organization based on your specialist competence.

Within the care and support sector, we work flexibly between the different units. Work shifts at other workplaces may occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

You must have a completed upper secondary education from the health and care program or equivalent, along with experience in similar work. A requirement is that you have a specialization in dementia and elderly care and have 200 higher vocational education credits, specialist nursing assistant. Experience in similar work is meritorious.

You are a responsible and service-oriented person who puts the individual's needs at the center. You are good at collaborating with colleagues, users, relatives, and other partners both within and outside your own organization. We believe that we build a better operation through collaboration and development together with others. We expect you to easily create relationships and have a respectful approach.

We want you to communicate verbally and in writing in Swedish, as the work involves many contact points and documentation. Since Skövde municipality is a Finnish administrative area, knowledge of the Finnish language is also meritorious. We expect you to be computer literate and preferably have experience in social documentation.

Upon employment, a criminal record extract from the police must be presented. The normal processing time for a complete application until you receive the extract is approximately two weeks.

As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means that a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare is required to use the title nursing assistant within care and support. Read more on the National Board of Health and Welfare's website.
