The Regional Management Office is part of Region Uppsala, one of the largest employers in Uppsala County. The Management Office supports the political leadership and administrations to ensure that the political direction is reflected in the various operations of Region Uppsala, allowing the region to fulfill its role both regionally and nationally. The Management Office is led by the regional director and has a governing, supportive, and coordinating role within Region Uppsala. The office includes the departments for finance and governance, regional development, IT, HR, health and medical care, information and communication, as well as the regional director's staff.

Our Operations

Uppsala is in an expansive phase and is growing the fastest in Sweden. The Management Office of Region Uppsala is now seeking a local strategist to shape and develop the local supply work within the administration. Local supply is a strategic development area for the region, and the Management Office is strengthening its capacity through this recruitment.

The position is newly established and is placed in a department for governance and management issues, led by the deputy administrative director. Here, a regional local strategist also works with strategic issues for the entire region, becoming an important partner.

Your Mission

As a local strategist for the Management Office, you will develop both the administration's local supply work and participate in the regional joint development of a framework for local supply.

You will have a central role in our local supply planning, responsible for the administration's local supply plan. The work involves investigating short- and long-term local needs, coordinating analyses and investigations, and preparing materials for decision-making. You will establish and develop methods and working practices for effective local supply. You will drive the administration's local supply projects as well as certain region-wide projects that have been politically decided. The role involves acting as a client and project manager from the user side in close collaboration with Property and Service.

In your role, you will contribute to developing our local supply work together with the regional local strategist and key persons in other administrations. It may also include supporting other parts of Region Uppsala in establishing and keeping local supply plans up to date.

The work involves extensive collaboration with many stakeholders. You are an important link between the Management Office and Property and Service and collaborate on development projects and future property needs. You also collaborate with the region's administrations to find effective solutions and co-plan local needs.

Your Qualifications

To succeed in the role, you need to have a relevant academic degree or other education or experience that we consider equivalent. You need to have knowledge of how municipal administration works and is governed. You should have several years of experience in local supply and property management. You have likely worked for at least 3 years as a local strategist or equivalent. You need to have good knowledge of strategic and operational local supply and property issues. Experience working in a politically governed organization is an advantage. A prerequisite for fulfilling the assignment is that you have a very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.

You take initiative to achieve results and are good at structuring, planning, and prioritizing your work. As a person, you are attentive and solve problems constructively. In carrying out tasks, you are meticulous and value quality. You have the ability to create insight into how an organization can develop based on existing goals and strategies. To succeed in the assignment, you need to have very good collaboration skills and be able to build and maintain good relationships in your work. You need to be self-driven and proactive, creating structure in your work with the assignment in focus. You have analytical skills and enjoy working in a complex organization.
