Job Responsibilities

As a teacher in Nynäshamn municipality, you will play a role in an operation that fulfills an important societal function. You will work in teams where all employees share a common responsibility for achieving the goals in our work plans and governing documents. Through collegial learning, professional development, and municipal subject conferences, we develop our teaching.

In your role, you will plan, implement, and evaluate teaching. Document and assess students' knowledge development and, based on a formative approach, engage in dialogue with the student to advance their learning.

Mentorship is included in the assignment. Mentorship is shared with a colleague. As a teacher at Vanstaskolan, you will be part of a team where opportunities for collegial learning and joint planning are provided.

About the Workplace

The primary task of the Department of Children and Education is to provide a safe and stimulating learning environment where we prepare children and young people for the future. We also work to promote access to cultural and recreational activities for all residents.

Vanstaskolan is a primary school in the Ösmo principal area with approximately 900 students and 130 employees. The school works with school development and has clear future visions. We operate in an open climate and with a good collegial spirit. At our school, we work to ensure that all students feel safe and have learning and development in focus. We have a zero-tolerance policy against discrimination and bullying, and the school has a well-functioning student health team that works closely with students and staff.

We who work here have varied backgrounds and experiences, and our primary task is to offer all children a safe learning environment with a focus on knowledge acquisition. We aim to prepare our children and young people for the future and provide them with the tools they need. We offer a developing pedagogical environment in accordance with the laws and directives in place, to provide all students with a stable knowledge base to stand on.

What We Are Looking For in You

To succeed in this role, you have:

• a teaching license and qualifications for the subjects
• good knowledge of the school's governing documents and curriculum
• strong skills in the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• knowledge and ability to use digital tools

It is advantageous if you have:

• experience teaching in primary school grades 7-9
