Karolinska Institutet (KI) is now looking for a manager for the development group who wants to contribute to the future of medical research and education.

Your Role

The central IT department, which is part of the shared operational support, consists of about 100 employees distributed across the units of Infrastructure, Development, IT management, and Service. The position is located in the Development and IT management unit, which currently consists of 24 people.

The development group consists of 11 employees, along with some consulting support, based at KI Campus Solna. The group is highly competent and assists the various operations of Karolinska Institutet by delivering technical solutions in areas such as identity and access management systems, integration platforms, middleware, and automation. The group has frequent dialogue with stakeholders outside of IT to ensure effective and appropriate technical solutions as much as possible. As a Group Manager, you will have the opportunity to develop your direct leadership. The group manager is a first-line manager and has personnel, production, and budget responsibilities. We are looking for someone with a background in technology who can address employee concerns and support them in their work.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has:

At least 2 years of experience in a managerial role
A background as a developer and knowledge of, for example, SQL, C#, and integration solutions in a Windows environment
Good understanding of working with requirements for IT solutions
Desirable academic education in a relevant field
Desirable experience with established models such as Scrum and DevOps

Confident in your leadership and responsive to employees and our users, understanding people's different needs and conditions
Communicative with good knowledge of both Swedish and English and able to express yourself easily in speech and writing
A relationship builder who values your contacts both internally and externally
Structured and goal-oriented in your work and capable of inspiring your employees
