Our Operations

In the neurology department, we provide highly specialized care for patients with diseases and injuries in the nervous system and eye diseases. We work with investigation and diagnosis as well as medical and surgical treatment of both acute conditions and chronic diseases in the nervous system and eyes.

Within Neurosurgery

At 85E, you will meet acute neurosurgical patients and elective patients who are cared for on the ward before and after surgery. The department has a varied pace where you have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and understanding of the care of neurosurgical patients. At NIMA, you will meet patients who require a higher level of care than can be provided on a regular ward but who do not need full intensive care. There is also our postoperative unit that receives patients primarily from neurosurgery.

Within Neurology

At 85D and 85B1, you will meet our neurology and stroke patients. At 85D, you will encounter neurology patients who have acutely fallen ill but also patients who are admitted through the ward's own waiting list in a planned flow. Major disease groups include individuals with motor disorders, general neurology, motor neuron diseases, and more. At 85B1, you will meet acute stroke patients and work as an important part of the Save the Brain flow. Here, as a nurse, you can participate in an emergency team that meets the Save the Brain patient at the radiology department and then continue monitoring in an observation room on the ward.

Your Mission

The mission includes rotating between the different departments. We offer you an introduction tailored to your background and experience as a nurse, but as a basic training, you will be trained for two weeks per department at 85E, 85D, and 85B1, and 3 weeks at NIMA 85H. The training follows the existing training material on each department.

Your Qualifications

You are a licensed nurse with at least two years of experience. Preferably with experience in acute or neuro care.

We Offer

We welcome you to a permanent position as a full-time nurse with a temporary assignment as a resource nurse for 1 year (with the possibility of extension). Entry by agreement. The position includes rotational work. As a resource nurse at VO neuro, you will receive a flexibility and inpatient care supplement and an opportunity for individual scheduling.
